This list goes on and on. I see these headlines everywhere right now. And I totally get why this is on your mind.
The holidays are filled with temptations of every kind, from maxing out your credit card on gifts to eating the decadent homemade treats that are everywhere.
Or worse….the tubs and platters of cheap, fake store-bought holiday cookies and cakes that show up EVERYWHERE 😧
My problem with all the well-meaning articles that are trying to keep you from regretting your decisions come January is that they feel like a tiny Barbie band-aid covering a knife wound.
We are so focused on what we eat for a few weeks of the year and yet the real conversation that I want to be having with you is what you are eating the whole rest of the year.
Because guess what?
If you felt amazing about what you were eating between New Years and Christmas, it wouldn’t matter very much what you ate between Christmas and New Years.
If you were really listening to how different foods made your body feel then it would be really hard to WANT the abundance of treats being offered to you……because you would feel poorly if you ate them all.
And it would be OK to have a little bit. And it would be best if you didn’t feel guilty about it. Toxic emotions do as much harm as a Costco chocolate muffin (I mean cupcake without icing 🙄)
